Now, I might be a guilty member (but I'm not). Extreme social media. Everyone knows what it is and I bet you can name at least five (I know I can).
Yes, I agree there are some good things about social media. Like you can keep contact with friends and family, meet new people, etc. But there's just that one thing which really grinds my gears...
Models. I know it seems strange but let me explain. Many teenagers look up to these people like they're some type of God. But why? Nowadays, if you're not like these Instagram-famous models, then people judge you. They make you feel insecure. They make you change who you are just so you're 'up to standards'. But why? What is the benefit of spending thousands of pounds on surgery just to make your bum bigger so you get 100 likes? What is the point?
I urge parents, carers, brothers, sisters to stop this happening to their loved ones. Not everyone has a 'perfect life' or a 'perfect body'. What even is the definition for it? No-one knows. If you are reading this, wishing you could change, don't. I repeat. Don't do it. What's the point? Things like this can take over young people's anxiety. I don't know who needs to hear this, but just because all these models have amazing figures and big bottoms, doesn't mean you have to.
As I put this to a closure, I wish social media is given the name it deserves: Hell. And I hope someone shoots 1000 right through its heart. It gets what it gave to others.
